That the work of God...

In John Chapter 9, the disciples of Jesus wondered why a man was born blind. They assumed, like the thinking of the day, that the man's blindness was the result of his own or his parents' sin. Jesus explained and demonstrated with a miraculous sign that this man's blindness was to bring glory to God, that the work of God might be displayed in him.

For many years, I've enjoyed writing poems (or song lyrics). They have been inspired by God's Word, points in my Pastor's sermons, and thoughts from Bible studies and Camp meetings. However, because I'm not gifted musically, I have had little success turning those lyrics into songs.

More recently, God has been helping me overcome my natural inhibition about my creative works. I believe God wants me to share these verses that the work of God might be displayed, through me, and perhaps through you. My goal is to share my poetry for the encouragement of others. And also, if God is willing, to partner with believers who want to share their own musical talent, but might be looking for the right words.

The Flutter of Angels' Wings

Book cover for The Flutter of Angels' Wings The Flutter of Angels' Wings is my first collection of Christian poetry. It represents poems from when I was much younger to newer works created for this volume. The title lyrics suggest listening to God close enough, straining even to hear, the fluttering wings of the angels that attend Him at His throne. It also stirs the notion of the angels' delight in praising the Father right along with us. It is not about the glory of angels, it is about the Glory of God.

Every Time You Run by Manafest

Every Time You Run from Manafest's album Chase is definitely a play-it-again song. Melodic, yet gritty, the song by Manafest also features the lead singer of Thousand Foot Krutch, Trevor McNevan. Every Time You Run tells the story of someone who has lost his way, aimlessly squandering his life. His turning point comes when he thinks back to when he was younger, in church with his mom. more...

Judas' Kiss by Petra

Judas' Kiss from Petra's album More Power To Ya is one of Petra's trademark songs. On Judas' Kiss, Petra comes strong with a classic rock sound, but Bob Hartman certainly wasn't writing War and Peace. more ...

Dear Diary by FM Static

FM Static's album Dear Diary is written to be more like the soundtrack of a musical than the typical collection of radio-ready tracks that normally appear on CDs. Dear Diary tells the story of the new kid in town, as he chronicles this critical time of his life in his diary. more ...
